August 2020 "Buoys on a Red Shed":
The color of the buoys drew me in, and I shared with Julia I wanted them to pop off the canvas.. This piece was challenging as the shed was worn and the buoys cracked. The shadows cast by them required a keen eye. Julia's skill with oils is remarkable. When I look at this piece, the buoys do pop, the worn out shed is apparent, and the shadows share it is late afternoon. Brilliant work from a brilliant artist and gracious human being.
